Privacy policy
This policy explains what personal information is handled when you use the eTrustOne app. The app connects customers, and the staff who serve them, with a participating organisation such as a bank. It is published by SKA Global Partners.
1. Who is responsible for your information
- The organisation you enrol with is responsible for your information. It decides how your information is used, and your enrolment and your conversations are held on that organisation's own secure service.
- SKA Global Partners publishes the app and maintains the list of verified organisations the app checks before it connects you. That list contains information about organisations, not about you. Where an organisation asks us to host its service, we do so as its service provider and act only on its instructions.
We do not keep a central eTrustOne account for you. Your enrolment exists only on the service of each organisation you enrol with.
2. What is handled, and why
| Information | Used for | Held by |
|---|---|---|
| Your name, and the email address or phone number you enrol with | Confirming your identity with the organisation and sending you one-time verification codes | The organisation |
| Identifiers created by the app for you and your device | Linking your identity to the devices you have approved, and delivering notifications | The organisation |
| Your messages, requests and attachments | Delivering them to the organisation you are dealing with | The organisation |
| Sign-in and security events, such as the time, the device and the outcome | Protecting your account and meeting the organisation's record-keeping obligations | The organisation |
| Support requests you send us | Answering you | SKA Global Partners |
The app does not collect your location, contacts, browsing history, financial account details or advertising identifiers. It contains no advertising and no analytics or tracking software.
Notifications. Apple and Google deliver notifications to your device. A notification carries only a signal that something has arrived, your device's notification token and an identifier for the organisation. It never contains message content or the sender's name.
Camera, microphone and photos. Used only when you choose to scan a code, take a photo, record audio or attach a file to send to the organisation. Nothing is captured in the background.
3. How your information is protected
Messages are encrypted on your device before they are sent and stay encrypted in transit. They are decrypted by the organisation's service, so the organisation can read and keep them, as it would a letter or an email you send it. Your identity keys are created on your device and protected by its secure hardware and biometric lock where available.
Where we host a service for an organisation, we do not access conversation content except where the organisation asks us to in order to operate or support its service, or where the law requires it.
4. Who your information is shared with
- The organisation you enrol with, which takes part in every conversation you have with it.
- Service providers that host or deliver the service, under contract and only for that purpose. These include Apple and Google for notifications and, where we host an organisation's service, Google Cloud and Neon for hosting and storage.
- Anyone the law requires us to disclose it to.
We do not sell personal information or share it for advertising.
5. Where your information is held
Each organisation's service runs in a location that organisation chooses. Services we host for organisations run in Sydney, Australia. Where information crosses borders, it is protected as applicable law requires.
6. How long it is kept
The organisation sets how long conversations and records are kept, in line with its legal obligations. Information held for your enrolment is deleted when you remove the enrolment, except where the law requires the organisation to keep a record. See Delete your account.
7. Deleting your information
You can remove your enrolment with any organisation from inside the app at any time. Removing an enrolment does not close your account with the organisation itself; only the organisation can do that. Full steps are on the account deletion page.
8. Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to see, correct or delete your personal information, to receive a copy of it, and to object to or restrict how it is used. For your enrolment and conversations, contact the organisation you enrolled with, because it holds them. For anything else, email appadmin@skaglobalpartners.com. You may also complain to the privacy or data protection authority where you live; in New Zealand, that is the Office of the Privacy Commissioner.
9. Children
The app is for adults. It is not directed at children, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18.
10. Changes to this policy
We will publish any change on this page with a new effective date, and announce significant changes in the app.
